On behalf of the elders at High Pointe, I want to extend a personal invitation to all the men in our church to join us as we read and study Reverberation: How God’s Word Brings Light, Freedom and Action to God’s People. Join us as we consider the place of God’s Word in the life of the church.
February 6, 2012
6:00 – 7:00 pm
High Pointe Baptist Church
Livingston Room
This year’s men’s conference will be held at High Pointe, in order to reduce costs and make it possible for even more men to attend.
The conference will feature guest speaker Russell Moore of Southern Seminary (bio). Dr. Moore is a biblical, engaging speaker who’ll expose areas in which we’re failing, but also give us hope for faithfulness, rooted in the transforming work of the gospel.
Dr. Moore will be speaking to us about our roles as men in the home and the church. He’s the father of several boys, and we’d encourage you to bring your sons. If you’d like to get to know him a little better before you meet him, you can read his books on adoption and fighting temptation, listen to some of his sermons, or check out his blog.

Just a quick reminder about our schedule changes to our October men’s breakfast. Due to the timing of our World Impact Festival, we’ll have our monthly breakfast on the third Saturday—this Saturday—rather than the fourth. We’ll also be starting at 7:30 am, rather than the usual time.
As always, all men in the church are invited. This month we’ll be hearing from Perry Darling about the evangelism and discipleship work that he and other High Pointe guys are doing in local prisons. We’ll hear how God is working, how we can be praying, and what it would take to partner with Perry in this ministry.
Men of all ages, plan to join us this Saturday morning (9/24) at 7am for our monthly breakfast. We’ll be discussing Russ Moore’s article, “Honk If You Love Anti-Christian Bumper Stickers.” Moore is a thought-provoking author and an engaging speaker. He also happens to be the speaker for our March men’s retreat. More info on that to come . . .
In the meantime, take a few minutes to read the article in advance of Saturday morning. How we should live as Christians in an increasingly post-Christian culture and respond to ridicule is worthy of our time. And it’s very similar to the sort of question we’ve been encountering in 1 Peter. By the way, if you don’t read it, come anyway.
Feel free to forward this invite along to other men that may be interested in attending. We encourage all to sign up for Men’s Ministry news and information on the Men’s Ministry page.
All men are invited to the next monthly Men’s Ministry Breakfast on Saturday 8/27 from 7am to 8:30am.
