Retreat Reflections

by Jeanine Sanchez
October 29th, 2011

The ladies of High Pointe had a wonderful weekend away and were blessed by hearing from Nola Moseley!
I wanted to post some application questions from Nola’s speaking so that we can spend more focused time in reflection.

Friday night, Nola shared portions of her life story and how God had used “holy interruptions” for His glory and her good in her life.  Some thoughts she brought out were:
1. What does your life say about where your focus is?
2. Do you think you are fooling God when there is a part of your life you still want to control and won’t surrender to Him?
3. Are there areas in your life that you are giving provision for your flesh?
4. Are you pouring into the lives of others or……
5. Are you comfortable and/or complacent in your life? What will it take for God to get your attention?

Saturday: Colossians 3:1-17
1. Are you being still and listening to what God is trying to tell you?
2. What is the one thing that gets in the way of your setting your mind on Christ? (I myself have multiple items)
3. What sin in your life are you “employing” therefore digging in your heels and being obstinate about? (v. 5-8)
4. Read verses 5-8 and prayerfully access your life.
5. How are you clothing yourselves according to v. 12? How are you representing Christ?
6. Is there someone you need to forgive? (v. 13)
7. Are you taking opportunities to pour into the lives of others? (v. 16)
8. Can you say you can do EVERYTHING in your life in the name of the Lord Jesus? (v. 17)
Ultimately, how is your daily life and purpose playing out?

If you need help working through these questions, please consider the relationships you built in your break out sessions and be an encouragement to one another!  We are blessed to have such wonderful women at High Pointe! And just as it was stressed after our sessions, if you have any questions about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, or as Nola stated, be a Christ-follower, please contact us! That’s where the first holy interruption begins!
I pray that God continues to conform us to His image.

Following Christ involves whole-hearted obedience in all areas of our service to Him. It is very easy to get distracted, sometimes by good things. When that happens, we may experience a holy interruption from God. And when it comes, although it can bring heartache, we will discover in the end that He is a good Father and He does all things well.

• Air-conditioned cabins – bunk beds (with thick mattresses) with attached bathrooms and showers
• Quiet tree-covered trails and surroundings for hiking

Ladies Craft Night at High Pointe

by Joshua Turley
September 26th, 2011

DATE: Friday, October 7th
TIME: 6:00 – 10:00 pm
PLACE: High Pointe Fellowship Hall
SIGN-UP: Women’s Ministry Table in the foyer

Hello Ladies,

Now is the perfect time to start working on your Christmas Cards and also make a set of cards to give as a gift. You can make an assortment of cards (birthday, thank you, etc) to make a wonderful gift!

The craft night is going to be a come and go evening and you are welcome to bring guests. Feel free to bring any craft project you are working on (such as a scrapbook) and come fellowship with other ladies. If you would like to make cards similar to those at the last craft day, materials will be available and the cost is $1 per card. We will have some of the following items available, but if you are able, these are some materials that would be helpful to have that evening:

- scissors
- glue
- glue dots
- permanent adhesive tape
- paper trimmer

Other items you can bring that you may have around the house:
- buttons you would like to get rid of can be used to embellish your cards
- ribbon
- pretty paper

You are also welcome to bring any crafting tools you wish to share with the ladies. Please be sure and label them so you get all of your tools back. We are also planning to have different technique demonstrations to help enhance your crafting projects.

If you are interested in coupons to different craft stores, please email me and I can forward to you.
