I was thinking similar things as you when I read the statement &quot;it is just as important to trust God as it is to obey&quot; but opted to not comment because my post was already too long, ha! So thanks for mentioning it!

I agree that the statement perhaps could have benefited from some explanation. Or at least more of a working out of what those two words mean and how they&#039;re related (maybe he does later in the book, I don&#039;t know).  

I think a lot could certainly be said about the relationship of trust and obedience!</description>

Would we not say that trusting God is a form of obedience to God?  If so, does it make sense to say that we should not only obey him, but we should trust him?  Isn&#039;t that like saying, &quot;Don&#039;t just eat fruit, you also need to eat apples.&quot;?  Just as apples fall under the category of fruit, so too trusting God falls under the category of obedience to him.  After all he does command us to trust him.
