I was thinking similar things as you when I read the statement "it is just as important to trust God as it is to obey" but opted to not comment because my post was already too long, ha! So thanks for mentioning it! I agree that the statement perhaps could have benefited from some explanation. Or at least more of a working out of what those two words mean and how they're related (maybe he does later in the book, I don't know). Would we not say that trusting God is a form of obedience to God? If so, does it make sense to say that we should not only obey him, but we should trust him? Isn't that like saying, "Don't just eat fruit, you also need to eat apples."? Just as apples fall under the category of fruit, so too trusting God falls under the category of obedience to him. After all he does command us to trust him. Doesn't that mean we must be obedient to that command? Okay, I've killed this point. What are your thoughts?
