Giving at High Pointe Baptist Church

In growing as whole-hearted followers of Jesus Christ, we seek to be obedient to God’s leading in giving:

    • We want to give ourselves first to the Lord: We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints — and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us.  2 Corinthians 8:1-5 (ESV).
    • God loves a cheerful giver: The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.  2 Corinthian 9:6-8 (ESV).
    • We are to be good stewards of God’s grace:  As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.  1 Peter 4:10 (ESV).

Financial contributions to High Pointe Baptist Church can occur in many different ways, including:

    1. Placing gifts in the offering plates during the worship service.
    2. Mailing a contribution to the church office.
    3. Giving via online bill paying services at your bank.
    4. Donating assets (like stock).
    5. Donating automobiles, appliances and furniture.

We encourage you to give cheerfully, generously, and faithfully to the many ministries of High Pointe Baptist Church through our general budget.  This budget has been carefully put together in order to fulfill our mission in the most strategic manner possible.

Further details for each giving option are provided below.

1) You may place your gifts in the offering plates during the worship service:

We invite you to participate regularly in giving as an important part of our worship, as we honor God with the first portions of all our wealth (Proverbs. 3:9). To that end, we provide offering envelopes to any regular contributor who chooses to use them. Envelopes provide a valuable tool for managing regular, faithful giving.

2) You may mail your contribution to the church office:

If mailing your contribution is more convenient, send it to our church office in care of our Financial Manager at the address below:

Attn: Financial Manager
High Pointe Baptist Church
12030 Dessau Rd
Austin, TX  78754

3) You may give via online bill paying services at your bank:

If you would like to set up High Pointe Baptist Church as a Payee on your online bill paying service with your bank then make sure to set up High Pointe Baptist Church as the Payee and use the address as shown under item 2.   We encourage our members to prioritize giving to the regular ministry budget of High Pointe Baptist Church.  This budget represents our strategic focus in fulfilling God’s mission at High Pointe.  On occasion, there are special needs or offerings that arise.  In such cases, it is important that you indicate in the memo where you want your giving allocated.

4) Donating assets (like stock):

Donating stock or other assets that have appreciated may provide potential tax benefits when you give appreciated assets like stock, rather than just cash, to 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations like High Pointe Baptist Church, you are generally exempt from paying capital gains tax. It’s a good way to store up treasure in heaven, while also maximizing the resources entrusted to us while on the earth. If you would like to donate stock to High Pointe Baptist Church, please contact Kay Null, High Pointe Baptist Church’s Financial Manager, at 512.837.7725 or by email. Consult with your financial planner or tax adviser before donating to High Pointe Baptist Church to determine how/if the potential tax advantages described here might apply to your specific situation.

5) Donating automobiles, appliances and furniture:

From time to time High Pointe Baptist Church has been blessed with vehicle, appliances and furniture donations. If you desire to donate an automobile, please contact the office, speak to Brenda Kerlin, and print the following two forms
