What Will Christ’s Return Be Like?

When it comes to the last day, that is, the day of Jesus’s return, there is much confusion, deception, and madness. Many are confused as to what the Bible teaches in light of current events taking place in the world today. The Bible warns us that false messiahs who will deceive people leading them to say, “look here or there.” And some Christians obsess over end times to the degree that it is all they think about.

What is the CURE for the “Last Days Confusion, Deception, and Madness”?  The ANSWER: The simple, clear teaching of Jesus about the last day. In Luke 17:20-27, Jesus teaches his disciples about the day of his return. First, he responds to the Pharisee’s question in vv.20-21. Then, he turns his attention to teaching his disciples. On Sunday, I gave us three sets of words that will help us understand the day of Jesus’s return so that we won’t be confused, deceived, or distraught. As to the Day of Jesus’s return…

  1. It will be VISIBLE and UNDENIABLE (17:22-25) | Everyone will see it. So, don’t be confused or deceived.

  2. It will be SUDDEN and SURPRISING (17:26-33) | So, be ready and hold on loosely to the things of this world.

  3. It will be a day of SALVATION and JUDGMENT (17:34-37) | That Day will result in a great separation! Jesus will welcome all who turned away from the kingdoms of this world and bowed down to King Jesus, and will cast out into judgment all who reject him.

So, imagine that day. Will you be welcomed or cast out? Unbeliever, come now and fall at King Jesus’s feet. Christian, long for and pray for the return of Christ. That is the day we will see our salvation!
