Our Song Response to Christ… is a Preview of Eternal Praise

Singing with Joy: Lessons from Isaiah 12

Isaiah 12 reminds us to respond in song to God’s gracious kindness in salvation. When Isaiah calls us to “sing praises to the Lord, for He has done gloriously,” he is inviting everyone to join in. We give thanks in song both as individuals saved through Jesus and as a community together, reminding and discipling one another. We sing to God and to each other, always giving thanks and celebrating God’s greatness, especially who Christ is and what He has accomplished for us.

Music has a unique ability to lift us up, settle into our hearts and minds, and help us express a joy that words alone sometimes cannot capture. When Isaiah speaks of drawing water from the wells of salvation with joy, he reminds us that God’s grace is always available, and the supply is truly endless.

The invitation is to bring God-centered psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs into our personal devotions, family life, life groups, and daily routines. Doing so refreshes those around us and helps us remind ourselves to rejoice and give thanks often.

Isaiah’s call to sing boldly remains just as timely today. This chapter urges us to “sing praises to the Lord” and “shout aloud and sing for joy” because something extraordinary has happened—God’s salvation is real and personal.

When we truly grasp what God has done, enthusiastic praise becomes a natural response. So let go of worries about what others may think. Every time your life group gathers, there is a fresh opportunity to declare God’s victory together. Turn up the volume in your devotionals and group gatherings, letting enthusiasm for God’s salvation overflow! Joining in song now is a way of anticipating Christ’s return and giving thanks for what God has done gloriously. For those interested, you’ll find curated song lists or playlists in the resources section to help make singing a rich, joyful part of daily life.

Gospel Partner of the Month: Reaching and Teaching International Ministries – B.M.
Reaching & Teaching International Ministries (RTIM) seeks to advance the gospel by partnering with local churches as they send qualified missionaries to make mature disciples, establish healthy churches, and train local leaders around the world.

You may know of RTIM because we sent Davey and Callie Davis and the P family through this sending organization. This month, we want to highlight our support for B.M. B and his wife served for seven years as missionaries in Central Asia, working in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. After returning to the US, B spent six years as a global trainer, traveling around the world to equip international church leaders for ministry. He desires to see the gospel spread and churches established among the nations of Central Asia. B is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife have three children.
