Worship While You Wait

Waiting is hard. Isaiah 25 gives ancient Judah—and believers today—assurance that the best is yet to come by urging confident trust in God and worship even in times of distress or uncertainty. God’s eternal plans are “faithful and sure,” never a Plan B, always unfolding perfectly. Judah waited through captivity, yet God promised a future feast, salvation from enemies, the destruction of death, the fulfillment of every word or promise.

Isaiah outlines five reasons for worshipful waiting: Our Faithful God …

  1. always keeps His promises,

  2. judges justly,

  3. rescues the needy,

  4. prepares a global feast for all

  5. defeats death forever.

Jesus our King transforms every sorrow and wipes away every shame; in Him every promise finds its answer.

To wait worshipfully,

  • Refocus your heart daily through prayer and Scripture, asking God for patience and humility.

  • Take time for praise and thanksgiving,

  • Serve as a “stronghold” for the vulnerable and needy—listen, encourage, and give practical help where there is need.

  • Share the gospel boldly; God’s invitation to the feast is open to all who will come.

  • Finally, fix your eyes on the future—read promises of Christ’s return and worship hopefully.

Isaiah 25:9 says, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.” With hope, confidence, and joy, wait for the King—knowing his feast and full victory over death are near.

Gospel Partner of the Month: Reaching and Teaching International Ministries – B.M.
Reaching & Teaching International Ministries (RTIM) seeks to advance the gospel by partnering with local churches as they send qualified missionaries to make mature disciples, establish healthy churches, and train local leaders around the world.

You may know of RTIM because we sent Davey and Callie Davis and the P family through this sending organization. This month, we want to highlight our support for B.M. B and his wife served for seven years as missionaries in Central Asia, working in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. After returning to the US, B spent six years as a global trainer, traveling around the world to equip international church leaders for ministry. He desires to see the gospel spread and churches established among the nations of Central Asia. B is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife have three children.
