Praying for Missionaries

This past Sunday we looked at Isaiah 5:1-7 in the morning and then gathered for prayer Sunday evening. We were encouraged to reflect upon and confess any sour grapes in our own lives and turn afresh to Christ in repentance and dedication to walking in the good works appropriate to those who have received such wonderful and gracious blessings in Jesus Christ.

In our biweekly evening service we pray for one another, for High Pointe, and for the world.  Members also share at an open mic about evangelistic opportunities they have with family, colleagues, and neighbors. Then, we pray for the LORD to open eyes and soften hearts and bring people to faith in Jesus Christ. We also had a brief (10 minute) teaching on how to pray for missions and our supported missionaries. Then, we prayed for those missionaries.

Here is a link to some simple instructions on how to pray for missions and missionaries.

We also introduced the 6 components of the missionary task: Entry, Evangelism, Discipleship, Healthy Church Formation, Leadership Development and Exit to Partnership. See the link below for a short explanation.

Many thanks to each one of you who led, planned, prepared, served, donated, invited, and participated in Vacation Bible School. Summer Life Class | Sundays at 9AM
Life Classes are meant to equip High Pointe for life as a Christian. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity and join us. This session, we are offering the following Summer Life Class:

Church History | Christianity Through the Ages

What Does It Mean to Be a Christian Today?
The way Christians live out their faith has always been affected by the culture and context around them. That’s as true for us today as it was for believers centuries ago. So how have Christians remained faithful in the face of changing times, challenges, and cultures? This summer, join us as we explore the lives of key figures from Church History and discover how they sought to follow Christ in their own era. Each week we’ll zoom in on a different individual (or group), considering their faithfulness, flaws, and what we can take away from their example.

Please note: There is no children’s ministry or nursery provided during the summer months.

Sunday AM Preaching Schedule: Pray regularly for the ministry of the Word at High Pointe.
