Resistance Is Futile: God’s Unstoppable Purpose in Isaiah 6
On Sunday, we considered the prophet Isaiah’s startling vision of our Big, Holy God and King. The LORD revealed to Isaiah an overwhelming picture reminding him that, even amid chaos and confusion, the Creator King is ruling over all and is always on his throne.
Sinless angelic beings called seraphim shielded themselves from the majestic glory and
splendor of the Living God and called out “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD God of Hosts, the wholeearth is full of his glory.”
Reminder: There is a God who rules and reigns over all. We are not God. Humility is the first
step towards true worship.
Isaiah was undone by what he saw and declared his own sinful rebellion and that of his people.
“Woe is me,” for I am lost/undone, said the prophet. He did not protest his innocence but immediately confessed his sin and unworthiness before the LORD. Then, he offered to go wherever the Holy God would send him and do whatever his LORD might ask. “Here I am, send me,” said Isaiah.
Reminder: Offer yourself afresh to go wherever, do whatever, whenever the LORD directs.
The Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Hosts gave Isaiah a strange mission. He is sent to people who are “ever hearing but never understanding.” Isaiah’s message would be rejected, but God’s purposes and plan would prevail. God preserved a remnant of the faithful, and Christ would eventually be born of that faithful seed/remnant.
Reminder: Resistance to God’s plan is always futile.

Gospel Partner of the Month: North Africa – Team Expansion
We are privileged to partner with the K family in North Africa. For 15 years, the Ks have been reaching unbelievers in a predominantly Muslim country (99%). And yet, the body of Christ is growing in that nation.
Some ways you may be praying:
1. Pray for a healthy, fruitful church led by godly, growing, local leaders.
2. Pray for these believers/leaders, especially as they face unique opportunities and challenges.
3. Pray for the K family – for a Jesus-centered home and joyful hearts.
4. Pray for the K family’s financial provision.
