Life Classes Begin This Sunday at 9:00 AM

Discipleship is helping one another follow Jesus by speaking the gospel to one another in love. The very gospel word that is ministered by the church’s pastors from the pulpit each Sunday is to reverberate throughout the congregation as each member speaks it to one another, applying it to one another in love as appropriate (Ephesians 4:11-16). At High Pointe, one of the ways we seek to help one another follow Jesus is by teaching the church to apply the gospel to various areas of life in our Life Classes.

Our approach is to offer 7-week sessions of three classes throughout the year and our first 7-week session begins this Sunday. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we are having to adjust how we handle Life Classes. Specifically, we are having to limit the number of attendees per class in order to maintain safe distancing and masks will be required for all attendees. We are also asking people to register ahead of time in order to attend. If you haven’t registered yet, we still have a few slots remaining, and we would love for you to register and attend! You can register here.

The classes offered this first session of 2021 are:

COVENANTS: THE BACK-BONE OF THE STORY OF SCRIPTURE

THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD

CONFLICT AND PEACEMAKING

We also offer a Spanish life class. There will be a kid’s class (K-5th grade) during the same hour for parents who are attending one of the other classes. Registration for these classes is required as well.

In April our second session of Life Classes will begin. We are hoping that by that time of the year we may no longer need to limit the size of the classes, but we ask that you bear with us as we seek to do what is best based on the information we have at the time about COVID numbers, vaccine numbers, and community care.

If you have any questions about Life Classes, please feel free to reach out to me at marshall@highpointeaustin.org.

Love,

Pastor Marshall
